Description
Breyer Stablemate Single Quarter Horse – Series 2
The Quarter Horse is the most popular breed in America, and for good reason – they’re hardy, reliable, and versatile. Known for their intelligence, as well as their docile and steady demeanor, the American Quarter Horses are usually fairly compact with fine chiseled heads and heavily muscled bodies with powerful shoulders and hindquarters and sturdy legs. An extremely versatile breed, the Quarter Horse is used as a family pleasure horse, show horse, racehorse, and working ranch horse.
In 1940, a registry was formed to preserve the breed which officially became the American Quarter Horse. The recognized colors of American Quarter Horses, including the most prominent color of sorrel (brownish red), are bay, black, brown, buckskin, chestnut, dun, red dun, gray, grullo, palomino, red roan, blue roan, bay roan, perlino, and cremello.
